One step closer to move in day! CWCS Managed Hosting will be in their new Data Centre within 6 months…
CWCS Managed Hosting are on track to open their new data centre within the next 6 months!
It has been a team effort getting everything in order, with CWCS’s Operations Manager, Thomas Foster taking the lead. Tom has been working hard to ensure this new data centre meets the demands of CWCS’s existing and future customers.
The initial phases to create the white space started many months ago, with the removal of walls and steel, followed by the plastering, painting and new concrete floor for the data centre, and most recently, Tom has overseen:
- The start of groundwork for the installation of generators and chillers.
Having state-of-the-art generators and chillers installed has been a priority for the business during the construction of the data centre. If the main source of power to the building were to falter, the generators will kick in, ensuring there would be no operational loss.
Chillers also hold equal importance within a data centre. With a huge amount of electrical activity within the building, a cooling system is necessary to maintain the ideal operating environment for the equipment.
- The installation of fire suppression
Alongside prioritising data security, CWCS take no risks when it comes to the physical safety of the data centre. A fire suppression system has been installed within the data centre to ensure the safety of staff, clients, and equipment, should an emergency occur.
- Racks have been delivered and installation has started.
Racks hold client and business servers, and by providing a well-organised hot and cold aisle containment ensures reliability, efficiency, and additional security.
- The power infrastructure is now being installed.
It was important that the new Data Centre was built to be as power efficient as possible. All aspects of the build out have been considered to improve our power usage effectiveness (PUE), and the data centre will be powered by renewable energy, as all CWCS data centres are.
These are exciting developments that will make all the difference for CWCS Colocation clients. The team are building the ideal space for clients, regarding both location and standard of the facility. CWCS have paid attention to detail, ensuring that this new space is not only everything they need and their clients want, but also will continue to uphold certifications ISO 27001 and 9001 in security and quality management.
Why is CWCS expanding?
Karl Mendez, Managing Director of CWCS Managed Hosting, explains: “There’s an increasing demand for hosted solutions, especially private cloud and server colocation, where customers want their data in a redundant and secure data centre facility with technicians available 24/7, and that’s exactly what we can offer.
Opening a new data centre in Nottingham significantly increases our capacity to offer flexible options comprising of cloud hosting, dedicated server hosting, and colocation services.”
The team are excited for this move and will continue to work hard to ensure the data centre meets the expectations of CWCS clients, longstanding and new, and meets the existing CWCS standard!
